* ABOUT THE CREATOR AND NAME *
George Papageorge, is a Wisconsin native who enjoys overlanding and off-road racing. He lived out West for a while during his college years. At the time, he raced a Toyota 4x4 in the deserts of the U.S. and Mexico. He was a crew member on Ivan Stewart's and Rod Millen's TOYOTA factory off-road race teams, also.
Frustrated with the lack of credible off-roading / overlanding in the Midwest. He decided to create an off-road trail of trails.
He named it the "7 Hour Plane Crash Trail". It originates from desert racing.
The races are nicknamed "All day plane crashes" due to the intensity and endurance a person & machine experiences while racing to the finish.
If one drives nonstop the trail takes about 7 hours from Crandon off-road raceway to Lake Superior. Thus the name.
It is very scenic trail that's technical enough to keep mall crawlers and disco jeeps away. It's 90% off road. It feels like the Baja 500's Pine Forest Section. Don't worry, you won't need any big winches or recovery gear. Just some ground clearance and good tires. Enjoy its overlanding vibe!
Keep in mind there are many scenic areas that run parallel to this trail.

They decided to take all the proceeds and create a foundation that derives from their involvement in overlanding.
